Snow Puppy Pictures and Trail running

First the pictures I was trying to put up in my last post. The weather was sunny and back to a bit warmer this weekend, so of course, different than these snowy pictures but dog pictures are always fun :)

Cooper chasing Mickey chasing Frito.
Mickey with a dusting of snow. "What is this stuff?"
Cooper and Mickey, waiting for the ball.
Cooper chasing Mickey (I think...)
Frito looking for the bunny.
Mickey giving his paw.

The weather was a little warmer this weekend, highs of 50's and maybe low 60's. Adam and I and the dogs got out for trail runs at Deer Creek Canyon Park both mornings. It is such a beautiful park, but a tough run. If I can do a run like that once a week, I'll get in pretty good shape. Saturday we did an out an back for 50+ mins with all 3 dogs. The run was basically all uphill, and then back downhill. We had beautiful views and amazing scenery. This was Mickey first trail run and he did very well. Cooper was a bit tired, so we decided we would give him a rest day on today. He has seemed to enjoy playing so much with Mickey with all the wrestling and tug of war and all, but has seemed a little lethargic, not wanting to play fetch as much, so I think he is getting tired. He is middle aged after all and needs his rest.

Today we joined a couple of loops and on the second loop it seemed like we were done climbing and then we would run up some more. We had some spectacular views, but I had to make sure to keep my eyes on the trail so I didn't trip. We planned to bring the camera, but somehow forgot. So we'll go back another time with the camera. We were in a bit of a hurry today so wouldn't have much time to stop and take pictures anyway. We ended up running 63 mins or so, which with all the uphill/downhills and rocks, was pretty tough. I don't know how Adam runs so well when he hasn't been running much at all. It's really not fair! It was nice to have him along for the runs. He makes for a nice triathlon training partner. Too bad he's only a triathlete in his off season.
