It's been awhile

I tried to post yesterday but had some technical difficulties putting pictures up of the dogs playing in the snow that we had last week. So, no snow dogs for now.

It's been a busyish few weeks. My mom was in Colorado last week end for a conference and came up Saturday and Sunday to visit. It was nice to see her and for her to see where we live. She and I were both really tired on Sunday, so we skipped plans to go for a hike and just lazed around.

We got our first snow last Tuesday and it has snowed a couple times since then! Thankfully, it doesn't seem to stick! The best kind of snow--it looks pretty coming down and doesn't stay around long enough to cause too many problems.

Mickey keeps getting bigger. And he plays nonstop. He has shown just how much of a border collie he is by showing his love for chasing and catching the Frisbee. He is sort of like a hybrid of Cooper and Frito in terms of personality plus a lot of puppy energy. And of course with his own unique weird personality of his own. Right now he is crawling under the bed.

So far swimming is going pretty well. I went to the early masters swim 2x last week and swam once on my own. So far I went 1x this week to masters and plan to go tomorrow am and swim on my own once this weekend. For now that seems good. There was a huge difference in difficulty between the MWF group and Tu/Th group. I went MW last week and it is a large group and most everyone there is fast. Tu/Th (based on me going one time) is much smaller and much less competitive. I like the MWF group better--I will have to work a lot harder there and will improve a lot more with this group.

Besides swimming, I have been running and strength training and wishing I had the money to buy a mountain bike. Not yet, but hopefully soon. I could ride my tri bike, but I'm not in the mood as much right now and during the week that would involve riding the trainer, so I'm not ready for that quite yet.

I'm looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend and then a 3 day week and Thanksgiving!!! Adam doesn't have a bike right now, so he may run a Turkey Trot with me and maybe I can convince him to go for a nice trail run with me this weekend :)

Snow already! Nice that it doesn't stick though. You are right - pretty coming down but gone before it causes trouble. :)

Hope you guys have an awesome weekend and a wonderful Thanksgiving!! And hope you can get Adam to do the Turkey Trot! :)
