The weekend came and went

I had a nice low key weekend. Just like I wanted. I got training done. I slept. I cleaned.

Saturday, I was slow to get going. I think I got up, ate cupcakes for breakfast, walked the dogs, and then took a nap. That's a nice Saturday morning. I finally got to the pool around maybe just before noon. I had packed up my bike and stuff to do a swim to bike workout. Mid swim I realized I had no snacks for post swim or for my bike ride. Darn it!!!!
My swim was short.

Then instead of getting snacks, I went to look at couches. Saw some that were possibilities, but couldn't decide. And I was hungry. So I ate, then napped. Then went on a major cleaning and closet organizing streak. I filled 2 bags of stuff to donate. So that was good. And around 7 or so headed out for a 1:20 run with the dogs. Cooper did a couple miles and Frito did the whole thing with me. My IT band started to hurt a little, but overall the run felt good.

Sunday, okay lets try this swim to bike thing again. But, oh man, I'm sore and tired, I think I'll get a massage today! So, I call up at 10 and they have an opening at 10:30 for a 90 min massage. So...before I workout for 3.5 hours, I get a deep tissue massage. Hmmm, I knew this was dumb, but I just couldn't resist the urge.

Then straight to the pool. I decide to wear the Wonder Woman suit which is still killer tight on my shoulders and but not as bad. I pop a Gu and drink some Propel. Lets do this. I start my warmup.

8x50 drill 25/swim easy 25 with :10 rest
I was supposed to do 12x50 with drill but at this point coach Matt has thrown his Gatorade and buoy into my lane and said ok, what are we doing? So I figured I was ready to move onto the main set. I said he could only join me if he didn't use his buoy, to give me a chance at keeping up. Surprisingly, he gave it up :)
6 x 100 on 1:45 in 1:24-1:32 I think, first was 1:24 and I stayed right with him at least on the first one!

It helped having him there to finish the full workout. He planned to do only 1500m but then kept saying, I'll do a little more, then more, then just finished the whole thing. I definitely would have dogged it a bit more. I was tired.

Then to the bike. I went moderate pace, moderately hilly for 2 hours. It was sorta hot. Not a really exciting ride. Just putting in the time. I was happy to be done. Then back home for a nap.

This morning I woke up early. Not on purpose. Sleeping with the windows open does that. I ate walked the dogs. Went back to sleep. Matt asked me if I wanted to go watch the Tour of Somerville bike race. I thought about it, I've never been, but I was tired, hot, nauseous. Blah. So I slept more. Then did more cleaning and organizing. Still felt crummy by the time we (me, Matt, and Genine) went biking at 4, but felt better after. We did 1:43 ride, moderate hills, with 5x6 mins intervals w/ 2 min recoveries. My legs feel pretty wiped, but that's training. We saw some buffalo out on the ride, so had to stop and take a picture. I'll post it when Matt and Genine send it too me. I don't know why, but it was quite exciting!

Cooper and Frito managed to get 2 Frosty Paws today, some quesedilla, and mac and cheese. Spoiled!

Perfect! You did everything you wanted in my book! I did the same, training, eating, organizing, cleaning! We women are all alike! I hope you felt good about it and you feel even better after that massage. I need to go do that. I'm darn tight right now!
