Racing season is upon us!

Okay, so I know a whole bunch of you crazies already went to CA or Louisiana and raced of those 70.3 things, but for the rest of us who don't like to ride 4 hours on the trainer or in freezing temps, the race season is about to begin soon! Mine begins next weekend and it was a beautiful weekend to help me get excited about it.

I got a little sunburn, but good to get that out of the way before FL and remind myself just how much my northern skin needs the sunscreen. And, I'm not sure why, but I thought for sure, St. Anthony's would not have wetsuits allowed so I planned on wearing my one piece bunny fast suit to race in.
This is bunny suit 1.0. I have never raced in it, but it makes me want to swim fast. When you have fast written on your butt, kinda makes you feel like you gotta bring it. These pictures are from me practicing my swim wetsuit removal before Black Bear last year. And proof that Cooper is always at my side :)

But, if I wear my wetsuit, I may want to race in a 2 piece so my tummy can breath. And get tan. It is going to be hot down there! So I could wear my blue suit from last year. One of my favorite things about races especially big races with lots of good athletes is meeting people. I'm excited to meet some new people and see some others. Too bad the Shutt's won't be there this year but I'll see them at Columbia again!I could wear the bunny 2 piece...will definitely throw off some of the girls in my wave...she can't be here to compete for real, right? I won't wear the life preserver pictured though...

I do plan to bring it for the beach on Monday at least. Since I don't even own a normal bikini.


Or get the Who Rocks suit ordered up in a 2 piece. That might be fun. I liked racing in that.

Tough decisions.

Anyway, definitely excited for next weekend. And then in 3 weeks is Jerseyman! And now it will be Genine's first full triathlon! She even got black nail polish to go with her black tri outfit and black bike and "black means business" mentality. Now, she just needs the black aero helmet :) And several other friends will be racing! And Matt will be out to photograph! How fun! Then the week after is Columbia, and Matt will be racing, and so will Beth and Courtenay and Kim and lots of other fun people!

I tried to order GU and endurolytes powder and new goggles today from trisports.com but couldn't redeem a gift certificate. Not clear how to do so...I just want my ridiculous amount of Gu please!

I had a run and got a massage today. And this week is shorter lower volume with some fast stuff. And I have Friday off work so I can fly out in the afternoon to FL! Wa hoo! Somehow, I think the work week will be busy catching and trying to get ahead for the 2 days off, but lets not think about it :)
